Visit the historic jewel Edinburgh
Edinburgh – the capital of Scotland, is oozing with history and personality. From its world-famous castle, perched atop a volcanic rock, to its palace, HM The Queen’s official residence in Scotland, and from the Georgian House to the National Museum of Scotland and every brick and cobbled alley in between – the city is a historical jewel.
What to see in Edinburgh Edinburgh Castle – needs no introduction – but keeping a close eye on the city and surrounds, this majestic and history filled castle is not only the most visited castle, but the home of the Edinburgh Tattoo.
Arthur’s Seat – It’s a bit of a walk, but it’s worth the effort. An extinct volcano with amazing views and yes, more history.
Edinburgh Old Town – More history, beautiful buildings … and … history!
The Royal Mile – From the Castle at the top, down to the Palace of Holyrood House and the Scottish Parliament, soak up the regal vibe, shop for your Whisky and other keepsakes … and rest your feet at one of the great restaurants and pubs too.
Royal Yacht Britannia – See how “the other half” travel … and see all the gifts from around the world on the Royals’ numerous state visits.
Greyfriars Bobby Memorial – Greyfriars Bobby was a Skye Terrier who was known for (allegedly) spending 14 years guarding his owner’s grave, until he himself, passed away in January 1872. See the statue and shed a tear (we did!)
